Experience

Prior to moving close to Dayton, Ohio to work at NCR, I received my BS in Mathematics and taught math to 7th and 8th grade students in a public school in Massachusetts for three years.  Working as a technical writer at NCR and several consulting firms, I sharpened my skills in writing and organizing technical information for people who wanted to quickly learn how to do their work using unfamiliar software.

Over a period of eight years, I taught evening math classes at a career college. My students almost unanimously praised my methods of presenting and clarifying topics in the syllabus. Besides doing private tutoring, I have tutored 5th grade students at an elementary school in Kettering.

Is there an article you would recommend for someone teaching math to elementary school students?
